Joaquim Catinda is the CEO of KixiCrédito since 2008, leading the first microcredit institution licensed by the Angola Central Bank. Under his management, KixiCrédito has established itself as a pillar of microfinance in Angola, providing access to credit for entrepreneurs and small businesses, with a direct impact on generating income and improving families' living conditions.

With a career marked by experience at leading institutions, Joaquim Catinda played a key role in the transformation and growth of KixiCrédito. During his leadership, the institution achieved significant milestones, such as:

  • Financing around 450,000 loans, totaling approximately 550 million dollars invested in the real economy;
  • Expansion to all 18 provinces of Angola, with 38 branches in operation, ensuring that financial solutions reach rural areas and the primary sector;
  • Creation and implementation of products tailored to the needs of women and youth, promoting entrepreneurship and employability;
  • Ensuring the financial sustainability of the institution, strengthening the resilience of microcredit in the country.

Main responsibilities:

Management and Strategy - Leading KixiCrédito, ensuring the effective implementation of the Board of Directors' resolutions and the strategic plan.

  1. Coordination and Operations - Ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the institution, working with directors and managers to optimize processes and services.
  2. Governance and Compliance - Ensuring compliance with institutional policies, government regulations and protection of the organization's assets.
  3. Development and Efficiency - Resolving administrative and financial challenges, promoting sustainability and operational efficiency.
  4. Partnerships and Expansion - Supporting strategic initiatives, including collaboration with DW-Angola and participation in HabiTec to strengthen social impact and business.

With a degree in Auditing and Accounting, Joaquim Catinda furthered his education at prestigious international institutions such as Harvard Business School, Wharton School - University of Pennsylvania, University of Cape Town, Boulder Italy and others acquiring expertise in microfinance and strategic management. As a visionary leader, his main mission is to promote financial inclusion and reduce poverty in Angola. He believes that sustainable development involves training and financing small businesses, consolidating microcredit as an essential tool for the country's economic and social progress.
