A graduate of the University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne in Law and Political Science, Dilek Elveren has nearly 20 years' experience in international cooperation, gender equality and the fight against discrimination.
An associate expert at the French High Council for Equality between Women and Men on issues of feminist diplomacy, she currently heads a European programme dedicated to gender budgeting within Expertise France.

She began her career at UNESCO, where she supported academic cooperation in women's and gender studies. After working for Médecins du Monde on violence against women, she joined the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF) in 2007. As gender focal point and programme specialist at the OIF, Dilek Elveren manages numerous projects and coordinates high-level events on gender equality. Working at strategic, operational and technical levels, she plays a key role in institutionalising gender equality within the OIF, by designing and implementing a dedicated policy and strategy. Following experience in a ministerial office in 2020, she will join the Women's Foundation as Director of Operations in 2021, and will then work with the Conférence des Grandes Écoles and Sciences Po Paris in 2022-2023.
